The Café at The Chichester Bike Project

Since December 2024, we have worked hard to establish a café alongside The Chichester Bike Project. Our vision was to create a welcoming community space where people could enjoy good food and drink while connecting with the project and the wider community.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of three different café operators, customer demand has not been sufficient to cover the rising costs of running a business. Like many businesses across the country, all have seen increasing pressures from higher operating costs, making it increasingly difficult for a small independent café to remain financially sustainable.

As a result, EDGE has made the difficult decision to close the café with immediate effect. We would like to thank all the operators, staff, volunteers and customers who have supported the café.

The good news is that The Chichester Bike Project itself continues to thrive. Demand for our services, training, workshops and community activities continues to grow, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead.

We are already exploring how the former café space can be used to support and expand our Bike Project, helping us to deliver even greater benefit to the community. While we have some ideas of our own, we are always keen to hear from the community.

If you have a suggestion for how the space could be used, or an idea that could benefit The Chichester Bike Project and the wider community, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch and share your thoughts.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to The Chichester Bike Project soon.
