Help Shape the Future of Chichester Bike Project – We’re Looking for New Directors

The Chichester Bike Project is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for passionate people to join our voluntary Board of Directors. As a Community Benefit Society, we believe everyone should have access to affordable, sustainable transport. By refurbishing donated bicycles, delivering community programmes and promoting active travel, we create lasting environmental, social and economic benefits across the Chichester district. To help us grow and achieve our ambitions, we’re recruiting new Directors with a range of skills and experience.

Who can apply?

As a Community Benefit Society, Directors are normally elected from our shareholder membership, so preference will be given to shareholders. However, if you’re not currently a shareholder but have valuable skills, experience or enthusiasm to offer, we’d still love to hear from you. The Board can co-opt Directors, providing an opportunity to become involved and contribute your expertise. Whether you have years of board experience or are looking for your first trustee or director role, if you’re passionate about making a difference in your community, we encourage you to get in touch.

We’re currently looking for:

Chair of the Board

We’re seeking an inspiring leader to guide the next stage of the Chichester Bike Project’s journey. The Chair will provide strategic leadership, support good governance, develop partnerships and help build an effective and engaged Board.

This role would suit someone with leadership and governance experience who enjoys bringing people together to achieve positive change.

Marketing Director

Help us tell our story and grow our impact.

We’re looking for someone with experience in marketing, communications, branding, digital marketing or audience development to help raise the profile of the Bike Project, attract new volunteers and supporters, and strengthen our community engagement.

Fundraising Director

Can you help unlock new opportunities?

We’re looking for someone with experience in fundraising, grant applications, corporate sponsorship or charity income generation to help secure the funding needed to expand our work and reach even more people.

Operations Director

Help us build a strong and sustainable organisation.

We’re seeking someone with experience in operations, project management, logistics, health and safety or organisational development to provide strategic oversight and help ensure our projects continue to run effectively as we grow.

Time commitment

All Director roles are voluntary. The expected commitment is approximately:

· One Board meeting every 6–8 weeks.

· Occasional working groups or project meetings.

· Opportunities to support specific projects that match your skills and interests.
